In the movies, they can show a series of images very quickly, flashing each one up for a small portion of a second and quickly giving you a series of impressions. Trying to express this with words, I suppose each little impression requires its own thousand.

First of all, there's a haze. Not a visible haze, but a slowness of mind. Thinking like being packed in cotton wool. Through this is a hospital room. There's a tv, high on the wall directly opposite the foot of the bed. On the TV are two men talking about poker.

There's a doctor, talking about the operation. I can't remember each word he says longer than it takes for him to say the next one. He's young, with short blonde hair in tight curls.

There's a woman, with long, dark hair, saying she can't take it all anymore, and this is it.
